There’s a wisp of keyboard or a muted rhythm guitar, and Justin Pierre begins his tuneful words. At a live show you may find that the songs are already stuck in your head. (Or maybe, to continue the analogy, your head is already stuck in the songs.) The band, from Minneapolis, is loosely affiliated with the sprawling nationwide emo scene, though the members’ interests clearly run to caffeinated pop choruses and fluorescent new-wave riffs. It sounds like one long sugar rush, and so long as the rush lasts, it sounds pretty great.
